Isola PP通常有1080(厚度0.08mm)、2116(厚度0.12mm)、7628(厚度0.2mm),这三种PP的区别在于厚度和树脂含量,以370HR PP为例,1080树脂含量为64.5%,2116树脂含量为54%,7628树脂含量为47%。
我们需要调整PCB层压以满足阻抗要求,同样的浸润层在实际生产中可以使用3层PP,且最大厚度不能超过20mils,如果这个数据是真的,我们应该考虑增加芯板(覆铜板)进行生产。
可以将线芯两面铜都蚀刻掉或者直接使用原材料,然后两面都用PP粘合,这样可以实现更厚的浸润层;也可以至少使用一张PP,但有时内层铜箔分布稀疏,或者成品铜太厚,就需要大面积填胶,因此考虑到产品的可靠性,厂家要求至少使用两张PP片。
PP对水分非常敏感,所以PP在使用前严禁打开包装。打开包装后,需要检查湿度指示卡。如果颜色由蓝色变成粉红色,建议不要使用。已打开包装的PP在使用前需要放在吸湿真空机中吸湿8小时以上。
建议将PP存放在温度低于20°C、湿度低于50%的环境中,在此条件下,可保证PP的储存期为生产日起90天。

Alternative materials for Isola PCB materials

Isola PCL-370HR and FR-406 have similar TG values to the following materials:
S1141: Gradually phased out.
S1170: At present, the mainstream is to use TG 170-180 material.
S1000-2: High Td TG 170-180 material, further upgrade of S1170.
IT180: The performance is close to S1000-2.
N4000-6: NELCO product, with performance close to S1141 170.
The TG of the above materials are all TG170 to TG180, so S1170 can be used instead.
2. Common material substitution with TD value as the focus
PCL-370HR material can be replaced by S1170 material, with a focus on TD value. The comparison between the two materials is as follows:
PCL-370HR:Tg 175; Td 350℃; Z-CTE(50-260℃):2.7%; Dk(1MHZ):4.6; Df(1MHZ):0.015。
S1170:Tg170; Td 335℃; Z-CTE(50-260℃):3.3%; Dk(1MHZ):4.6; Df(1MHZ):0.012。
Both materials are suitable for lead-free soldering processes, with a TG difference of 5 ℃ and a thermal decomposition temperature that meets the requirements of IPC lead-free soldering process materials. The Z-axis expansion coefficient is also close, and DK and DF are also close, so the overall performance is similar and can be replaced with each other without any negative effects.
But the procurement cycle of PCL-370HR is about two weeks, and the material cost is almost twice that of S1170.
3. Common substitutes for materials with a focus on Dk and Df values
Isola FR408, Isola Getek, and Isola IS620 are high-performance materials with similar Dk and Df values to the following materials:
