Usually, the design process of radar PCB depends entirely on the system that will use the board. Therefore, the design process of the radar circuit board is based on the application. Sometimes we find layers that require high frequency and therefore high power, while other layers require low frequency and lower power. If the design is not carried out according to the requirements, it will not guarantee the required transmission speed and accurate data processing, thus reducing reliability.
We will mention some design steps to ensure the integrity of the radar PCB design, as shown below.
1. Create the circuit diagram included in the radar PCB board, indicating all the details required for the correct design of the circuit board and the necessary components in the printed circuit board.
Typically, radar PCBs contain many circuits that perform specific tasks, such as RF circuits designed for analyzing and processing radio signals, transmitter and receiver circuits, and other components. Design diagrams must be created for each circuit to estimate the number of components.
When designing an appropriate antenna to perform panel functional tasks, design factors such as antenna gain, direction, and frequency response should be considered.
4. Due to the sensitivity of radar PCBs to minor interference, performance requirements must be considered during the design phase, including radar response, mechanical performance, noise response, etc.
After drawing and planning the radar PCB board, we select appropriate materials for design in order to choose necessary materials with high characteristics, such as resistance to different climatic conditions (such as humidity, high and low temperatures) and corrosion resistance. Epoxy resin and polytetrafluoroethylene are commonly used in PCB manufacturing for radar applications.
