1、conductor
FPC connector copper foil is suitable for flexible circuits and can be electrodeposited or electroplated. One side of electrolytic copper foil is smooth, and the other side is dull. It is a compliant material that can be made into various thicknesses and widths, and the frosted surface of ED copper foil is usually treated specially to improve its adhesion.
2. Insulation film
There are many types of insulation film materials for FPC connectors, but the most commonly used are polyimide and polyester materials. Currently, nearly 80% of flexible circuit manufacturers in the United States use polyimide film materials, and about 20% use Mylar film materials. Polyimide material is non flammable, geometrically stable, has high tensile strength, and can withstand welding temperatures. Polyester, also known as polyethylene terephthalate, has physical properties similar to polyimide, with a lower dielectric constant and low moisture absorption, but is not resistant to high temperatures. The melting point of polyester is 250 ° C; C, The glass transition temperature (Tg) is 80 degrees Celsius; C, This limits their use in applications that require a large amount of end welding. In low-temperature applications, they exhibit rigidity.
3、adhesive
In addition to bonding insulating films to conductive materials, adhesives can also be used as cover layers, protective coatings, and overlay coatings. The main difference between the two lies in the application method used, which involves overlay bonding to cover insulating films and form a stacked circuit structure. Screen printing technology is used to cover adhesives.
